You knew it would come to this

Diebold busted for editing critical comments about its voting machines out of Wikipedia. Which, of course, only makes us think that there's even more the company wants to hide.

In my twenties, living and working in the Chicago area I had a good friend in Evanston who was sales manager for Diebold in that territory.

Later, in Atlanta, in a management capacity with a small company, I had a good experience with Diebold as a supplier of equipment I designed and needed for asset management.

We've all used their ATM equipment with relative satisfaction.

In all these experiences I've had a high regard for the firm and its people.

It's been sad for me to read about their cover up tactics.
