However, I don't think three's really a conflict. I don't defend what the Georgians did in going into South Ossetia; clearly it was going to provoke a strong Russian reaction. That doesn't justify a full-scale invasion of Georgia, however.

Gorbachev,(sp?) has an interesting piece in the WP today on this subject. But since Bush doesn't do nuance he's not likely to understand it.
