Those of us who have opposed the Iraq war often fail to give sufficient credit and consideration to some of the subtle and sophisticated arguments of those who support what the administration has done.
Consider this from Sen. Jon Kyl (R-AZ) yesterday:
"The best way to support the troops is just to support the troops."
Or, from Sen. Lindsay Graham (R-SC), also yesterday:
"The way to defeat al Qaeda is to defeat al Qaeda."
I'm convinced.

Tautology reigns. Sounds resolute, says nothing. It's about the meaning of the word "is",as in, "it is what it is".
The parents of these people, if still alive, should ask for their college tuition payments back.
I have four sons born and raised in GA, still living in red states. Sometimes I'm tempted.

How about looking at the entire speeches from either senator, each of whom spent about an hour on the Senate floor this week explaining in great detail why they held their views? Some of those speeches have been posted in National Review's "Corner" and all are available at thomas.loc.gov. Each of the examples you give are explained in detail by the senators in question.
